Air Fare Prices have Bottomed

After numerous months of sliding airfare many people decided just to postpone booking. There are several indicators, however, that show that the prices of airline tickets may have bottomed and are back on the rise. Recently fare comparison sites have reported hikes from ten to twenty dollars.

Since July 4 is has past fuel prices are again going up as a result of bigger demand. Also since the economy is showing less signs of waning people are starting to gain confidence which also drives prices.

The fact is if you have been on the fence about booking airline tickets for the reason that you have been wondering if the prices would continue to go lower, it looks like it is time to move ahead. If you do not book soon, it is possible to see large price increases in airfares.

As of right now the fares have not increased in a means that would not still make it a steal of a bargain to get an airline ticket. The point of this note is to let you know that it is possible that right now is the cheapest time you can book a flight.

We are still seeing amazingly low rates on hotels. The fact is that many hotel chains have cut prices to raise occupancy. Even though there is a global economic recession enveloping the whole world today, people will still have the urge to travel. The main worry they have is how they can indulge in their preferences without overspending. This can actually be easily done by choosing the type of travel method.

There are several options available for any traveler regardless of cost. The more common include flying to practically every destination on Earth. The other is to go on a ship cruise which costs less relatively.

There are also many who choose to drive as a mode of travel transport although it is limited to certain countries. One can actually drive through Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, for instance. Similar things can be done in European countries as they are well connected by roads and costs cheaper, although it can be tiring.

A more unconventional way to travel is to hop on a train and tour the country. Prices are also often affordable due to lower operational and maintenance costs.

The best part about seeing a country on a rail service is the breathtaking views one gets to see while zipping across the different terrains. Budget travel is a complex subject because there are so many tips and tricks. The best part about it is that it’s a never ending process, meaning that there’s always something new to learn.

Volunteer vacations are great because you get to help everyone while packing your bags and leaving your home for a while. There are several agencies that have projects around the world where you can help so take advantage.

Airlines are sneaky not because they keep changing prices based on supply and demand. With sophisticated technology, they can predict when most people will go to the site so prices will naturally be higher.

Airport has airport surcharges that may helps the airport but doesn’t help you because you pay more. If you want to save some money, just rent a car from an off-site location. It’s cheaper and probably has better service as well.

GPS devices are so cheap these days that it doesn’t make sense to rent them. All you have to do is buy one before you go and you will recoup your cost in one or two trips.

Many people don’t like prepaying because you are in a way giving out a free loan but I say do it as much as possible. Not only is it cheaper, you can budget the trip much better by knowing the costs ahead of time.

Travel agency may be annoying at times and non-responsive at other times but they can sometimes find you incredible deals that you just cannot get anywhere else. You obviously have a choice. Suck it up and pay nice or pay more. It’s up to you.

You may not want to go to San Francisco in February, but if the deal is great, why not take a few days off to see it. The spontaneous trip can be a godsend to your life since it’s unplanned and it’s cheap.

4 Ways To Save During An Economy Crisis By Volunteering or Working Off Enrollment Fees Instead of Paying For Summer Camp

With summer comes lots of idle time for kids. That’s why summer camps are so great. They offer children an opportunity to do and explore. However, along with these great activities usually comes a pretty hefty price tag. Summer camps can cost upwards of $400 per week! Even the cheaper ones will run a family $100 per week with only a 10% discount for multiple children. For 3 kids to attend, that would $280 per week for 5 half-day sessions. Yikes!

During an economy crisis like we are currently experiencing all over the world, parents may have to get a little creative with their summer plans for the kids. Volunteering is one way that a family can experience a great saving. Cost-conscious parents may be able to use their skills in a way that will allow their kids to go to camp and, possibly even get a few extra dollars in their pockets! Here’s how:

Summer Program Committee or Board Member - All summer programs have to be organized. Use your skills to help with the planning by volunteering or working in an administrative capacity, as a program curriculum developer, or on the Fundraising or Supply committee to help the program to buy for cheap all of the supplies that they will need. Any program can appreciate someone willing to work to save the camp money!

Be a food service volunteer. You could play a large role in helping the camp to save money by using frugal recipes or finding ways to get donations or buy for cheap snacks and other foods. Summer camps have a lot of children to feed, and being able to get discounts at any point can amount to a huge financial saving.

Volunteer, or possibly take a paid position, as an instructor. This could potentially be one of the most lucrative opportunities that you will have. Some camps will pay people to teach the children a variety of skills. You could take a hobby like arts and crafts, or concrete business computer skills and parlay those into possibly a paid position with the camp, while still enjoying having your children to attend for free!

You could be a “camp taxi”. By offering to carry children to and from camp, either as a camp employee or just to help those in your immediate area to get to and from safely, you could either raise enough money for your own children to go to camp or they could potentially go completely for free!

Your kids’ summer doesn’t have to be fun time lost during this economy crisis. Think outside of the box this year and let your skills work for you and your family. Not only will you enjoy the saving and the kids will enjoy the fun, but the program that you work for will appreciate your frugal recipes and resourcefulness when they realize that they have also saved money because of you!

When summertime comes and the kids are out of school, there is nothing more fun then loading up the family and heading to a theme park. When the weather is hot, water slides, roller coasters, and funnel cakes can be things that dreams are made of. However, theme parks can be costly, especially for a family. So how can you save money on these mini-adventures?

To begin with, you should start on the park’s website itself. Usually, the theme park’s website will offer discounts similar to the ones that they have sold to other vendors in order to compete. Sometimes, by buying directly from the website you can get web only fares and save around $10.

The next place you should look would be the Credit Unions. Many of these organizations give out discounted tickets and deals to its members to local attractions like theme parks. King’s Island, for example, is available at discount rates form the Health and Education Credit Union.

A number of product brands also like to offer discounted tickets to help sell their products. Make sure to check in with Coca Cola, Pepsi and other large corporations that frequently have gifts advertised on their covers before throwing them into the garbage. While the discounts might not be much from such offers, every $5 off coupon is worth it when you consider the overall charge of a theme park vacation.

Grocers can also be a place to look for discounted tickets. Meijer, as well as Kroger, has offered discounts to their customers in the past.

If it’s feasible, you can always visit the park in a group. Groups of people can get group rates. These are anywhere from $10 to $15 off the regular ticket price. A group usually constitutes of about 15 people. For some parks it might be less.

Still, if you are able to take a little pressure and a few hours of listening about timeshares, then you can often pick up great tickets for nothing but the cost of your time.

If you go to the theme park a lot, a good way to get cheaper tickets would be to invest in a Season Pass. They are priced very fairly for anyone who intends to go often, and many times two or more trips will see that you have made a very good savings in the long run.

Craigslist and Ebay have also been good places for some people to find discounted tickets. Like purchasing them from the discount websites, be cautious. You might find them for a good price but you don’t want to arrive at the park, only to find that you can’t use the tickets.

Not matter how little these saving might sem, the cost really does mount up in a party of people and you could find that $5 off per person is enough to bring your vacation within your budget.

The best way to find flights is to shop around. You should choose different travel dates, different times and use different search engines and airline websites.

Eventually you will know the lowest fares available and be able to determine which options are worth the additional money.

If you are looking to travel during a popular time of year such as Christmas or Thanksgiving then it pays to book your flights as early as possible.

You can keep your flight price low by travelling at off season times. If you do fly during a peak time then you can keep prices low by purchasing your ticket very far in advance, for Christmas I advise 6 to 8 months in advance.

Those that can change their plans quickly may be able to take advantage of the many last minute deals offered by airlines. These deals occur because a flight may have empty seats and the airline will lose money if those seats are not filled.
